Social driven landscape has been growing in recent years in Malaysia, more so during Covid-19 pandemic. Under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) which consists of 17 pillars, many NGO or non-profit organisation trying to uphold at least one of these pillars in their mission. Right now, we can see the rising of charities providing food aids to the underprivileged recipients that impacted from losing jobs to survive in this challenging time. This is supporting one of the SDG goal, zero hunger. Food Aid Foundation, The Lost Food Project and Yayasan Food Aid Malaysia among the NGO that supporting the underprivileged beneficiaries via food aids, with essential food items such as rice, cooking oil, eggs, sugar and other essential supplies. They work with various partners, corporate or government agencies with volunteers distributing the donations to the targeted recipients such as poor families, orphanages, old folk homes, soup kitchen and so on. Chinese New Year (CNY) is just around the corner. Despite that we are still under movement control order (MCO), we can still celebrate with our friends, colleagues and neighbours as long as it is in line with the Islamic values. For Chinese Muslims, celebrating CNY is part of their ethnic identities which they are born with and proud of their cultures and customs. For non-Chinese Muslims, this festival can still be rejoiced by attending CNY events to strengthen our ties with our Chinese friends and colleagues. Islam is a beautiful religion that celebrates diversity in cultures as long as it is not contradicting in the teaching of Islam. As Malaysians, we have multi-cultural races and some are lucky to have interracial marriages family to welcome and to learn each other cultures. Do you spend a lot of time nerve-wrecking about things you have no control over?  Or you seem couldn’t get your mind off your worries. You most probably have tonnes of monologues to yourselves repeating “what if” events. Well, I am afraid to tell you this, you might have over thinking signs. You need to start to train your brain to focus more on positive sides. If you were pulled into the overthinking realm, switch your brain channel to something more productive.   Please do not dwell on the past, not so much. Instead, teach yourselves to live for the present and plan for the future. Don’t spend a lot of time constantly remind yourself of mistakes or wondering about the hidden meaning in things people say.
