The ‘fear of missing out’? How to use FOMO in Social Media Marketing?

How many of us know about FOMO marketing? Let us share with you 6 worthy insights about FOMO and how they can excite your customers to make reactive purchases.

1. FOMO stands for ‘fear of missing out’. Missing out of what? It is a perception that other people have better things, more fun or better experience than you. Hence, create a feeling that you also want what other people are having now.

2. FOMO marketing creates a sense of urgency and scarcity. How? You can impart fear to your target audience to market your products and services. Let them feel, they are going to lose an amazing opportunity if they don’t take it now. For example, be the first 50 customers to get a special free gift.

3. Set a time limit. Perhaps you should shout ‘Deals of the day!’ Your customers know that they only got 24 hours to get that big discount. Even open orders for food and beverages in limited time intrigue impulsive purchases.

4. Share reviews and testimonials.  Happy customers’ reviews on your products will attract other customers wanting to buy and use your product. Great testimonials show that your existing customers enjoy your products and services. It gives additional score on your product values. FOMO marketing surely helps to boost sales.

5. Show countdown timer to show visitors they’re running out of time. Real time numbers would create FOMO in your audience. Example, 01:02:45 to countdown triggers customers to buy within the duration of 1 hour 2 minutes and 45 seconds before the deal ends.

6. Create competition. You can share your product availability like what we see in hotel booking, ‘We have 3 rooms left’. It makes you to book faster, because you are afraid of fully booked scenario. With that and competitive price, it plants some frenzies in customers mind to get it immediately, or you’re going to miss it.

Well, now you know about FOMO marketing, let’s apply in your marketing strategies today in multiple channels of your social media platforms. Remember, attract and engage your followers, convert them into customers and boost your sales!

This has resulted in unequal health outcomes and access to essential services. In the early years following independence, efforts were focused on addressing the healthcare needs of the population and expanding the healthcare infrastructure, which included the development of new hospitals and clinics in both urban and rur...
