Flower Therapy : How flowers tinge your emotions?

Flowers are always delightful to see, smell and touch. Imagine a garden of flowers that gather plenty of species, with green scenery as background. The various colours of fresh flowers bloom before the eyes. Naturally we smile. We awe. We appreciate. The nature somehow provide us calm and happiness.


If we go to tulip fields, with colours of yellow, white, pink and purple serve in front of our eyes, we might have the urge to spread our hands and twirl, or feel like running thru the field freely, feeling light and easy. 


What is it about flowers that can turn our hearts feeling calm and bliss? Being around nature have benefit us with pleasant feeling. The colour and the smell of flowers, even the shape and texture of flower, once we touch and feel them, can stimulate positive emotions. 


That is why candles and aromatherapy have scents of floral fragrances. Floral scented in home’s ambiance does improve our mood, feeling relaxed and less anxiety. 


If we go to hospital, we can see that people bring flowers to cheer the patients. Just by seeing the flowers lighten the worry hearts due to its therapeutic elements in the colour, smell and shape, without even realizing it. Flowers seem to reduced stress and for some patients support their recovery time.


Flowers can bring people together from strangers, family and friends. Even when someone asks for an apology, they’ll bring flowers as a symbolic ‘I’m sorry’ admission. It melt many hearts. It grows back love and passion. 


We see flowers in funeral, in hope to bring a little touch of comfort to show sympathy and care for the grieving family and friends. In the sadness atmosphere, flowers do tribute calm and serene ambiance.   


Flowers seem to affect us mentally in a very good vibes. We tend to temporary forget our problems, frustration and worries for a while. And it’s a much needed break we all needed if we have to go through long dilemma or depression or stress and anxiety.  


There are studies around flower therapy. The way that flowers impact us emotionally, give us tranquillity, love and hope. 


Study also shows smell can triggered memories in the brain cells. There is an intimate link that flowers can prompt our feelings and memories.   


Try it by putting it in corners of your house or on a table in your office. It give off some freshness and nature touch in our homes. There are many occasions such as graduation, promotion, that makes flowers one of undeniably great gifts. 


Flowers connect human in a positive reaction, to make us feel better and somehow inexplicitly soothe the soul. That’s how flowers tinge our emotions… with a beautiful connection.

Nagomi Art : Hope and Healing

 I decided to try a Nagomi Art session just out of curiosity. Honestly, I’m not great with art, drawing, or even picking colours. But since I had some free time and the workshop was free, I thought, why not? After the class, I got curious and started digging into its history.
